About National Institute of Design
The National Institute of Design (NID) is an autonomous design institute in India offering B.Des., M.Des., and PhD programs across disciplines such as Communication, Industrial, Textile, and Interdisciplinary Design. Admission is conducted through the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which includes Prelims and Mains stages to assess creativity, problem-solving, and visualisation skills. NID has limited seats and a highly competitive selection process, with a low acceptance rate each year. The exam focuses more on creative thinking and practical ability rather than academic knowledge, making consistent practice and skill development essential. Candidates should also be aware that the Studio Test and interview play a crucial role in final selection, not just the written exam.
